KanMed Baby Warming Bed enhances NIDCAP and Development Care philosophies
To be able to treat premature babies according to the latest methods one must focus on the babies individual needs and responses. The environment should be quiet with reduced light, and treatments co-ordinated to avoid unnecessary stress to the baby and reduce the number of interventions. The baby’s bed must be comfortable and allow easy access and good positioning facilities, the warming should be noiseless and free of magnetic and electrical fields. |

Getting out of an incubator
 |
Alexander and his twin brother Philip were born at 1400 and 1200 grams at the Akademiska Hospital, Uppsala, Sweden. After some weeks in the incubator they were both restless and unsettled. The staff decided to take them out of the incubator and try the KanMed water mattress set at 37°C. The standard nest was big enough for both of them and they quickly settled together. Kangaroo Care and breastfeeding suddenly became easy. |
