Following an independent audit, Central Medical Supplies (CMS) has recently received Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry-supported, scheme to help organisations protect themselves against the most common online security threats.
The NHS requires accreditation from all partners to help protect sensitive patient data and to lower the risk of threats. Cyber Essentials Plus is now providing heightened security for CMS and offers more protection from cyber-attacks.
Brand & Product Manager, Sarah Ward, says: “This is a real step in the right direction for us and only further emphasises our commitment to the NHS.”
The Cyber Essentials scheme encompasses a set of standard technical controls organisations should have in place, to help guard against cyber-attacks. Appropriate for organisations of any size and in any sector, Cyber Essentials is increasingly being used by businesses, including leading UK banks, to ensure good cyber security in their supply chains. Holding an up-to-date Cyber Essentials certificate also enables companies to bid for government contracts, where the handling of financial or personal data is involved.
Being Cyber Essentials Plus certificated means that Central Medical Supplies’ now carries more effective cyber security policies, to protect both its customers and supplies.
