The new CMS and MOECK & MOECK partnership will bring the MOECK WARMING SYSTEM® to the UK market for the first time. The MOECK WARMING SYSTEM® provides a more sustainable and clinically efficient method of patient warming, as it uses reusable textiles rather than disposables. This is an important development, as healthcare providers increasingly seek solutions that reduce their environmental impact while improving patient outcomes. In a recent study – ‘Life cycle assessment of reusable versus single-use disposable forced-air warming blankets’ – the authors conclude that switching to green electricity in operating rooms and reprocessing reduces the CO₂ footprint of the reusable system by up to 74%.1
Based on convective air transfer, the MOECK WARMING SYSTEM® comprises of a forced air warming device (TWINWARM) and various types of reusable textile blankets, for temperature control from above, as well as textile mats, for temperature control from below. The blankets and mats can also be combined to provide temperature control from above and below. The temperature-controlled air, generated by the air warming device, is directed to the inside of the textile products via flexible hoses. Due to the type of material used for the textile products, the air is distributed evenly around a patient’s body contour, providing effective patient temperature control in line with the setting on the air warming device.
